My Husband a Great Carpenter and Father

My husband is a great carpenter and Father, but tonight I'm talking only about the carpenter. It started here. I came just in case he needed my help.

This is what I did while I was waiting for him to choose each board for the project.
You do see a bird face, don't you?

This is the finished table. My husband decided to build me a table because my old cutting table gave up the ghost. I also needed more storage space so my DH gave it a lot of thought and came up with this great design.

He spent weeks cutting, sanding, measuring and painting. I'm thrilled with the results. It allowed to to reorganize my studio.

I was forever moving things from on place to another because I didn't have space for everything. Now I do. I'm hoping that this will make for a neater studio.

I asked for a short shelve near the top to store things that I use on my cutting table often. Things like freezer paper, fusible web, mats, etc. The other shelves are for things I don't use often but need a storage space.

Organizing my new space called for a reorganizing of the whole room. I even cleaned out the doors in my sewing table, my files, and storage boxes behind my sewing table. I didn't get to my design walls or fabric. That will have to come much later.

Right now I have two quilts to finish and a husband to treat royally for Father's Day.

  1. Hoooraay for handy dads. My husband built shelves in my closet and 2 shelves under my table also. He made extensions to raise my table, out of plastic pipe. I am in the middle of a studio makeover also. Lots of work, but it is so worth it. My studio is very, very tiny.
