Holley Johnson chose a photo she took in California wine country. The archway of the door framed grapevines and an interesting rock wall but the door was the main subject of this piece.
Holley was a little concerned at first about getting everything just as it appeared in the photograph. However, after a day or so with my encouragement she relaxed a little and used a little artistic license in the piece.
Holley has been making traditional quilts for quite a few years but this was the first time for her to delve into art quilting. I think she has done a great job.
Nice piece. She should definitley do more of these type. Hard to believe this was her first...great job.
