Isn't it interesting how quilting can built friendships? Two years ago I received an invitation from Lynda of Sautee, Ga. to present a program and workshop for their quilt guild. During the exchange of emails we realized that we both would be attending the NQS in Mars Hill, NC. We decided that we would try to catch up with each other while there and did. We found out that my son and her daughter both lived in Solona Beach, CA, they both have daughters in the same Daisy Scout troupe and school.
An invitation to exhibit at their local art center resulted from that visit. Also an invitation to stay at their lovely home during the exhibit opening. We found that we had more in common than the grand kids living in CA.and quilting. We, this includes our husbands as well, love gardening. We invited Linda and Ted to visit us this week and we spent two very short days enjoying their company, our garden the gardens at The SC Botanical Gardens in Clemson, SC and the beauty of Lake Keowee. Only through quilting have I been able to meet these kind of people.
